in the mid-90s i started using starch as a powdered form of lube. powdered lube — considered a paradox by some — can add a frictional texture to conventional lubricational techniques. in the late-90s i started incorporating powdered starch into partnered sexual practices until i learned from a scientist friend that the chemical composition of starch dissolves the protective latex barrier in condoms. so, in response, i decided to ditch both the starch and condoms and go 100% bareback. i've never really looked back, and have been raw ever since. i sometimes miss the frictional texture of the powdered lube of the starch, but i'm reminded of the old days and a starch collar dick whenever i pick up my shirts at the cleaners. 1995-2000.
