when i was living in tokyo on visa with the tj maxx trans-pacific marketing unit (sales division), i became interested in quasi-pornographic jap anime, specifically interracial muscular bareback queer toon sex (basically: tom of finland for queer japanese youth). i purchased this print — titled, "mulatto manga" — from a dyslexic rice buyer in the "toihoi" (hoitoi) district of tokyo. during a manic episode i sketched an ad campaign for the tj maxx bryan adams line of speedo-esque bathing shorts ("summer of '69") for the "modern japanese man." before the campaign had a chance to air on japanese media i was fired from tj maxx for fucking a couple of japanese interns.
