i had this idea about making t-shirts that have the worst thing that ever happened to you printed on the front. the idea was that there is no space for the affective in the culture, and this would force it, hard.

i have a student who took the gay class last semester and is now taking the philosophy class, and i had told her about the idea and she's started making them. i just ordered two that i designed online:

my father

committed suicide

when i was 7

and

i am manic depressive

acute case

and

i have spent

2 years of my adult life

in mental hospitals

it's in a cool font, black with white print, centered, all lower case, soft v-neck tee. it felt really good to design and get them — april 1 of all delivery dates — and i am hoping to wear them. i would very much like to wear them to school, just for that one class, because we have talked about it, i'll gauge opinions on wednesday.

i wonder what it will feel like to wear them in the public.
