andy barely bright —
why did this happen, perhaps?
in late december, 6 guys jumped me in a dunkin donuts parking lot in watertown screaming "faggot" and knocked me out, threw me to the pavement, and kicked the fuck out of me. 4 cop cars, 1 ambulance, 13 stitches to the face, and 2 nights at mt auburn hospital.
unexpected.
but in the end, i won: the faggots forgot to steal my pink backpack.
(and i still look extremely pretty.)
fast-forward 3 weeks: manic as fuck.
almost three months in the hospital, but the mistake was the doctor's — thrice — who discharged me while I was intensely psychotic. it was entirely to my own credit (and with a bit of help from my mother and dan) that i made it back quickly to the ER — thrice — without burns and scrapes and missing limbs.
but check out how recklessly I was treated:
original admission: 1/27
first discharge: 2/8
second admission: 2/11
second discharge: 2/23
third admission: 2/25 (48 hours!)
third discharge: 3/5
fourth admission: 3/7 (48 hours!)
final discharge: 4/3
!!
highlights laterz —
they didn't even serve ham for easter — and it's a catholic hospital —
[i didn't receive the 1/29, 30 texts until today, 4/3. i have been without my phone since 1/27. i was hospitalized the afternoon of the unhinged orange jacket dance number on 1/27. the unwise visit to the store (not sure of the date) was during a misguided furlough from the hospital and was not inspired by your text. i was happy to receive your text today, 4/3. i am feeling better — but still a little shaky and need to rest — but will be good by next week. then hopefully we can get together and talk for a bit; i can work around your schedule.]
andy, fine
i will be on leave from berklee until the fall and in the interval i will write that book that is totally the book that i will write.
