andy pink, live from the dana farber,
hello friends, update on my mother: we saw the oncologist yesterday at dana farber's satellite in chestnut hill (which is beautiful, airy, open, with starbucks, my mother said it reminded her of a ski lodge) — she has two small cancerous nodules on her left breast — stage 2, her prognosis is good, there will be a consult with a surgeon on 2/13 (the next appt, which i will take her to), no labs or tests until then. she will have the nodules removed by a surgeon (likely at the end of feb) downtown in longwood, and she should be fine. radiation at left breast, minor surgery, unlikely to need chemo, probably a pill or two down the line. i'm confident, i think she is having trouble recognizing that she will survive. the trauma of a false positive, in a way.
jeff had a great time at my parents house. i had trouble sleeping. overate. but back on diet with the final two weeks a pure mix of salads. amazon fresh order with goods this afternoon. i am down to 153#, and should be at 150# by 2/1.
in other news: i lost a glove this morning walking jeff to wegman's for wheatabix cereal.
love andy
